There are 4 hand building sessions available, and how many you attend is up to you and your schedule (as long as you attend one). The dates available for hand building are 2 separate Saturday/Sundays, July 18/19 and July 25/26 from 9:30A-12:30P. Participants are given creative freedom during this time and are provided help from our expert instructors.

Once hand building is done, we will move on to our second part of the workshop: glazing, a pot luck, and raku firing. This will take place on August 08. An exhibition of completed pieces will be held at the Wrightwood Arts Center on August 09.

Come and explore the beautiful work of Wrightwood local ceramicist, Bonnie Hanson! Her work will be on exhibit at the Wrightwood Arts Center starting July 17, prior to her opening reception on August 01.

Come to Wrightwood for it's annual Mountaineer Days (this year it will be hosted all on one day)! The event has all of Park Dr. filled with vendors and has live music, old-time games and contests, a petting zoo, cowboys and gunfighters, a parade, and more!

At the Wrightwood Arts Center, we will have a free community banner that anyone can paint, artist vendors out front, and our exhibiting artist Thaddeus Sissing will be here with more prints available!

Donation of any amount appreciated. No RSVP needed, but seating is limited.

For this class, your teacher artist will help guide you as you work en plein air (in the open air) within Wrightwood. A variety of mediums will be available for use, such as watercolor, gouache, acrylic, etc. No previous experience is required and all materials are provided. If preferred, participants can also bring their own supplies.

Thaddeus Sissing is a photographer whose work showcases the diverse and changing landscapes surrounding Wrightwood. He has found that a focus on areas close to home allows him to thoroughly plan his compositions. Through repeated visits, he has developed a close familiarity with local ecosystems and how they appear in a variety of conditions.

All materials will be provided but it is recommended that you search for any frames, buttons, jewelry, chains, wire, lids, and similar items that you have around your house and feel inspiration from. No previous is needed.
